Over the weekend, you'll be exposed to so much more than just Pilates; it's an integrative experience where you will:

  • Utilize various props that support and meet your individual needs through blended Pilates & yoga movement, mindfulness, and meditation.

  • Eliminate muscular tension as well as mental and emotional stress. 

  • Experience deep peace through soothing self-care, relaxation, and self-expression techniques. 

  • Learn sequences that can increase breathing capacity and calm the nervous system.

  • Strengthen the relationship you have with yourself.

The remote location of this retreat allows you to be surrounded by trees, mountains, and rivers as you dive into the weekend and your practice. Throughout the retreat, you'll be treated to healthy, comforting meals and have the option to indulge in a massage, explore the nature trails, or simply relax by the pool.

 

What to Expect:

Expect daily Pilates & yoga movement, breathwork, meditation & journaling. Enjoy yummy, protein-balanced plant-based dishes (food intolerances & requests will all be accommodated).

Access to the gorgeous grounds of Menla, walking & hiking trails, The Dewa Spa and pool are available to you throughout your stay...all with an intimate group of both new and old friends.

Example of the daily schedule:

· 8-9am Breakfast

· 9:30-11:45am Morning Session

· 12:30pm-1:30pm Lunch

· 1:30-4:30pm Free Time for Relaxation and Spa

· 4:30-5:30pm Afternoon Session

· 6-7pm Dinner

This retreat is designed for all levels of practitioners, including beginners.

During this retreat, you will have an opportunity to experience a variety of approaches to Pilates, hatha yoga, from elemental vinyasa flow with a therapeutic quality as well as a myriad of supportive practices, including myofascial release technique and restorative practices.

All sessions will be adapted to the participants in the room. You will receive guidance on how to modify poses and lots of individualized attention.

The Grounds

Menla is a 330-acre private nature reserve. Sitting at the head of a breathtaking glacial valley, it’s one of the most beautiful parts of the Catskills.

Hey there! I’m Lia

Founder of wel•lam, Pilates Master Trainer, and Yoga Therapist. I have been teaching for 10+ years and describe myself as a lifelong student of the body. With a background in Pilates, Barre, and Yoga, I bring a holistic and therapeutic perspective to my teaching. My passion lies in connecting with my students, honoring their individual practice and needs. I specialize in Prenatal & Post Pregnancy, Musculoskeletal Pathologies and have pioneered a series supporting the physical and emotional well-being of Teen Girls. I lead sessions with a strong voice and a soft heart, with alignment, form, and breath at the core of every practice. You can read more about me here.

This retreat is for women looking to reconnect to themselves and move in a mindful way. If you're looking for sweaty, quick-paced vinyasa classes, this retreat is not for you. If you're unsure, please reach out here.

Arrival time is Friday between 3-4:30pm, and departure is Sunday morning. Specific information is sent out by email upon registration.

You can expect delicious vegetarian cuisine. The retreat center can accommodate most dietary requirements – you will be asked about this upon registration.

Yes, Pilates and Yoga are both incredibly beneficial tools for healing injuries. You and I will speak before the start of the retreat so I am fully aware of your situation and I can share with you some modifications. For more comprehensive care, I recommend private sessions.
